Air Center One Development
January 31st, 2008
Long-standing Auckland International Airport resident Air Center One is developing a new FBO/Corporate Jet Terminal. The new facility is located at the eastern end of the airport by the Puhinui inlet, immediately north of the threshold of Runway 23.
The 386 m2 two-level building will have a passenger lounge area capable of handling up to 55 passengers, with floor to ceiling windows giving unobstructed views to the approaches of both runways, a larger Customs and MAF baggage x-ray room with a dedicated reception counter, expanded Customer Concierge reception area, four passenger lounge writing desks with internet connections, refreshment console, plasma TV, leather lounge chairs, three bathrooms with separate showers, flight kitchen, and covered landside and airside entrances. The lounge area is intended to provide passengers with private space in the event of multiple aircraft movements.
Air Center One’s administration offices will be on the lower floor, along with a boardroom/meeting room with internet access. There will be space available on the upper floor for sub-lease—all with glass partitioning offering views similar to those from the passenger lounge. The facility will incorporate a 23-space controlled access car park and room for large buses to turn. Another feature of the building will be an exterior enclosed patio area with views to the runway
The new facility is scheduled for completion by late August 2008, and services will be available to all local and visiting private, corporate and charter operators.
